Tennis
I’ve been playing tennis professionally for 10 years and coaching for the past 3. Competing at a high level has taught me a lot about handling pressure, staying disciplined, and managing my emotions. Coaching gives me a different kind of satisfaction — helping someone else improve and watching their confidence grow is just as rewarding as winning matches myself.
Psychology
I’m really into psychology, especially the ideas of Carl Jung, Epictetus, and Erich Fromm. Jung’s concept of the shadow and self-awareness connects a lot with high-level sport, where you constantly confront your limits. Epictetus helps me stay grounded under pressure, and Fromm’s thoughts on freedom and responsibility add depth to how I see motivation and personal growth.
Yoga
I’ve been practicing yoga for about 6 years. It keeps my body balanced and injury-free, but more importantly, it helps me slow down mentally. The breathing and focus carry directly onto the court, especially in tight moments.
Reading
I’m drawn to classical Russian literature — especially Fyodor Dostoevsky, Leo Tolstoy, and Michail Bulgakov. I like how deeply they explore inner conflict and moral questions. Their characters feel very real — flawed, searching, and complex — which ties back to my interest in psychology.
Bouldering
I started bouldering in November and got hooked pretty quickly. I like the problem-solving side of it — every route feels like a puzzle you solve with your body. It’s intense and humbling in a good way, and it pushes me differently than tennis does.
